ElderPet is a 501c3 non-profit organization staffed entirely by volunteers. As any organization, we do have general administrative and overhead fees which include insurance, registration and training fees for our instructors, office related costs, reimbursement of instructor time and volunteer expenses, non-profit filing fees to the State of NH and other items. These costs are termed general expenses.

ElderPet provides and delivers pet food to low-income elderly and individuals with disabilities. We welcome pet food donations. Food may be delivered to Cole Hall, Lobby or Main Office, University of New Hampshire. For a printout of the type of food we destribute on a monthly basis, click here.

While we receive pet food donations from the community - primarily during the holidays - we often must purchase food to supplement what we receive. These costs are for pet food purchase.

ElderPet occasionally works with low income clients and their veterinarians to provide expensive medications for pets. These costs are for pet medications.

ElderPet has also established a no-interest loan fund for low-income clients with unexpected pet veterinary care expenses. This is the Veterinary Care Loan Fund.
