SUMMER SUBLET
I'm looking to sublet my Dover apartment for July and August. This could be a great opportunity for new grads who want to get to know the area a little before choosing a place to live. If you'd like more details, please contact me at saa33@unh.edu.
How early can I start looking for housing? my soon-to-be roommate and I are planning to move at the beginning of August, but would like to secure a place soon.
Any advise? I've tried Craig's list and the MUB, but all I see are June rentals! Does anyone know of any 2 bedroom apartments available for rent starting in August?
Help!
I'd say now is the time to look for housing.
You might have to compromise on that date, especially in Durham. Durham is a college town, so the apartment business peaks in late May and early June.
Give some of the places a call and see if they'll let you set a somewhat later move-in date (it might help to tell them you're grad students), but if not, you might have to grit your teeth and pay some June and/or July rent just to get a place secured.
Other markets (Dover and Portsmouth, for instance) are not quite as college-based and tend to have more flexible dates.
Hi, I am Mary Ma, a new student. I wish to mail some of my stuff to Durham as the luggage is to heavy to manage. Since I don't have an address in Durham yet, I am thinking send it to the postal office on campus and get the box when I come to Durham in August. Dear friends, do you think it is a good idea? Do you know if there is a postal office on campus that will allow me to do that? Thank you so much for the tip!
I look forward to meeting with all of you. cheers, mary
