Admission Information
Admission Requirements for the M.Ed. and C.A.G.S.
A candidate for the M.Ed. Program is expected to have the following:
? above-average credentials including grade point average
? above-average score on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general test
? three letters of recommendation attesting to the intellectual and professional
? competence of the candidate
? an interview if considered necessary by the faculty
Applicants for the C.A.G.S. must meet the admission requirements described above and must also possess a Master's Degree in Educational Administration or the equivalent.
The core faculty in administration and supervision meet throughout the year to consider applications. The deadlines for submitting a complete application, transcripts, GRE scores, and letters of recommendation are December 1 for the spring semester, April 1 for the summer, and July 1 for the fall. Applicants for financial assistance should complete their applications by February 15 to ensure consideration for the following academic year. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications should be sent directly to the Dean of the Graduate School.
While the various programs in the Administration and Supervision Program lead to certification as a principal or superintendent in New Hampshire, the state may require that the applicant for an administrative credential pass a state mandated test. The State Department of Education requires that all applicants for a credential pass the Pre-Professional Skills Test (PRAXIS I). Please contact the State Department of Education for further information regarding the state mandated test.
