“L.L.T. Rocks. With over thirty years of time to fine tune and get it right, LLT runs a tightly knit program. Even so, what impressed me most was how well the program was orchestrated in accordance with its teaching philosophy. For me, that kind of honest approach helped make the entire learning experience one that has carried over into my teaching year after year.”

Phase 1: Wilderness Week
Phase 2: Design Week
Phase 3: Summer Learning Practicum
Phase 4: Synthesis & Reflection
Phase I: Wilderness Week
During the first week of the program, staff and participants live in an austere wilderness cabin in the White Mountains, sharing the joys and hardships of learning together. Through the accomplishment of daily living, a sense of community and an atmosphere of cooperative team building are created -- both important in preparation for the summer ahead. Hands-on activities and community service projects foster greater self-confidence, increased awareness and acceptance of individual differences. The foundation of understanding the experiential process is developed.
