The Educational Testing Service (ETS) recently released the Title ll Pass Rates Reports for the 2010-2011 academic year. University of New Hampshire Department of Education Teacher Preparation students had an overall passing rate of 97% for all Praxis tests as compared to a statewide passing rate of 92%. On January 4, 2012, the New Hampshire House of Representatives on a vote of 255-112 and the Senate on a vote of 17-5 were successful in overriding Governor John
Lynch’s (D) veto of HB 5423 . This veto override took effect immediately and (a) allows parents to file an objection to any course material, (b) requires a school district to devise an alternative acceptable to the parent, and (c) the alternative must enable the child to
still meet state requirements for education in the particular subject area of the objection.

Patrick Boodey,one of our graduates and one of our Partnership School principals, has been named the 2012 NH Elementary School Principal of the Year! A wonderful and well deserved honor for one of our closest school colleagues and program graduates.
Former Ph.D. Student, Anita Charles, now a professor at Bates College, received the national Best Dissertation Award from the American Association of Teaching and Curriculum. Anita completed her dissertation, entitled 'It’s Just Part of What We Do’: Interactions with Multimodal Texts Across Social Spaces, in 2009. More about our Ph.D. program...
The National Science Foundation Noyce Scholarship Program provides annual scholarships of up to $20,000 for undergraduates and $12,000 for graduate students interested in pursuing a teaching career in math or science education. For more information see http://unh.edu/noyce/
