The Sprout Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the ongoing operations of Capital District Community Gardens’ mobile produce market, The Veggie Mobile Sprout.

 

REPORTS TO: Healthy Places Program Manager

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.

•Demonstrated experience as a team leader, as an educator, in non-profit work, in retail, marketing, or agriculture.  An interest in all of these is necessary.

•Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment.

•Must be practical, decisive, creative and responsible.

•Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.

•Must possess excellent computer skills (MS office products, creative software, web and database).

•Commitment to the mission of Capital District Community Gardens.

•Must be flexible and comfortable dealing with various constituencies (including team members, seniors, people of various socio-economic communities, ethnicities, and races, and volunteers).

•Outgoing fun personality, good listener.

•Bachelor’s degree.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

•Supervise the delivery of Veggie Mobile Sprout Services •Cultivate and maintain relationships with Sprout locations and constituencies in order ensure delivery of Sprout services.

•Collaborate with other Healthy Places Program projects in the purchase and distribution of wholesale produce. Sprout Coordinator may be asked to purchase produce at the farmers market at 5:30am.

•Responsible for project data collection including all inventory and stop by stop statistics.  Responsible for compiling data and narrative for grant reporting.

•Cooperate in the production of Veggie Mobile outreach and education materials.

•Coordinate coworkers and volunteers to help deliver services with enthusiasm and care.

•Recruit and organize volunteers and interns.
