About the Job

We are Farm Fresh To You, a family owned CSA, connecting families to the local farm that grows their food. We are looking for someone who has experience with inventory and logistics coordination - and likes to cook - to help coordinate with our farm and neighboring farms to generate seasonal produce boxes that our members love (delivered to their homes). You must be experienced with excel, be willing to learn new systems, be good extremely adaptable to changing environments, calm when dealing with deadlines, able to manage perishable inventories and logistics, and like to cook vegetables and fruit.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 Creates and communicates weekly menus according to company philosophy by analyzing information such as historic menus, harvest projections, consumption rate, complaints, industry data and characteristics of items in inventory to determine supply, substitutions, and need for replenishment.

 Facilitates warehouse communication on inventory and usage rates to communicate fluxuations to appropriate parties to minimize inventory and shrink loss.

 Maintains online systems accurately to reflect order and supplier information and use inventories effectively while minimizing customer substitutions.

 Assures that the commodity is delivered on schedule and meets the quality standards of the company.

 Coordinates supply chain management including resource planning, scheduling

and perishable inventory control. This     includes working with regional

departments to ensure consistent quality and smooth flows of product and information.

 

Coordinates appropriate methods needed to distribute commodity in a cost effective manner including booking and coordinating inbound and outbound freight (or the communication and management for others to do this function).

 Maintains some vendor relations and supplier development with selected vendors.

Manages quality control, product rejections and resolves quality issues with the farmer.

Solicits and evaluates proposals for the requested commodity.

Implements purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations.

 Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.

 Achieves understanding of and ensures compliance with the broad requirements of the Food Safety Program.

 Demonstrates comprehension of food safety requirements for their person and their work area.

 Ability to get along and work effectively with others is required.
