SAVEUR Social Media and Community Intern

SAVEUR is looking for a Social Media and Community Intern for January-June 2013. Candidates will be directly responsible for creating social media content across Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram, and should understand the value of social media as a vehicle for sharing news, telling stories, and inspiring conversations. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
Craft compelling, engaging content for Saveur's various social media outlets
Engage with Saveur's followers and friends through all channels
Monitor and respond to user comments on Saveur.com
Create and oversee social media contests and promotions

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of and passion for food, cooking, and travel
Preternatural talent for tweeting, posting, Instagramming, and pinning
Comfort with Photoshop and Google Docs
Must be available three full days/week in our Midtown Manhattan office.

Developer experience NOT required. This internship is unpaid. 
All SAVEUR interns have the opportunity to connect with well-known people in the culinary world, as well as to attend parties, tastings, and events.

SAVEUR Digital Editorial Interns

SAVEUR is looking for Digital Editorial Interns for January-June 2013. Interns become intimate with all aspects of web production and content development. Interns should have an inherent understanding of blogs and content websites, and the role they play in people's lives through both desktop and mobile channels. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
Write and edit digital editorial content
Produce articles, collections, recipes, and galleries
Brainstorm compelling seasonal content
Research and compile product and recipe roundups
Write and edit content for syndications and partnerships

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of and passion for food and cooking
Love for online content, blogging, and the digital sphere
Top-notch writing and editing skills
Comfort with Photoshop and Google Docs
Must be available three full days/week to work in our Midtown Manhattan office

Video and photo skills are a big plus. This internship is unpaid.

SAVEUR Website Producer Intern

Saveur is looking for an Website Producer Intern for January-June 2013 who will work with the Senior Producer and is responsible for helping build interactive projects, new site developments, and manage maintenance and updates to Saveur.com. Our ideal candidate is passionate about the web and technology, a desire to learn more about site production, and be a part of an award-winning digital team.

The web producer intern is someone who wants to pursue a career in digital media, is curious about how websites work, and loves seeing projects through from concept to finish. They are highly organized with a keen attention to detail and the perfect candidate is a team player who wants to dream up big digital ideas for Saveur.com and help bring them to life.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help manage the daily website developments, taking part in bi-weekly planning calls
- Work closely with Senior Producer, developers, designers to make sure projects are on target
- Track and manage the development items and tickets in our tracking software (Mantis)
- Take part in regular editorial and production meetings with SAVEUR editorial staff
- Contribute ideas

QUALIFICATIONS:
- An inherent knowledge of the web, what makes a website successful
- Familiarity with HTML, Java and other coding languages is helpful but not necessary
- Familiarity with Photoshop, Google docs
- High level of organization and keen attention to detail are absolutely necessary
- Developer experience is NOT required.

SAVEUR Online Video Intern

Saveur is looking for an Online Video Intern for January-June 2013, responsible for creating new video content, helping to produce editorial videos, and managing our online video properties and databases. Our ideal candidate is passionate about filmmaking and visual storytelling and has a strong desire to be a part of an award-winning digital team.

The online video intern is someone who's probably pursuing a filmmaking or digital photography/video degree, has an inherent knowledge of what makes a beautiful and rich story, and is passionate about jumping into projects and experimenting with the medium.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, produce, shoot and edit videos from inside the SAVEUR test kitchen and on-location
- Edit videos shot by SAVEUR staff and freelancers
- Manage the SAVEUR video library on various platforms
- Engage with partners and fans through online channels, help share SAVEUR videos and grow audience


QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced knowledge of video and photo cameras, including but not limited to Canon 5D family
- Advanced knowledge of Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Photoshop and other editing software
- Working knowledge of YouTube backend, annotations, etc.
- Knowledge of trends in video, best practices for distribution
- Knowledge of and passion for film, food, cooking, and travel
- A strong affinity for organization, clear communication, and humor is encouraged

Interns must be available to work 2-3 full days/week from our Midtown Manhattan office. All SAVEUR interns have the opportunity to attend parties, tastings, and events. This internship is unpaid.
