James Hall

Project Description

This project is intended to provide for the total renovation of James Hall and will complete all interior and exterior renovation and renewal of the building. Full accessibility will be provided throughout, including the addition of a new elevator; emergency egress will be established to meet current codes; and modern, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning will be installed. Windows will be replaced with double-glazed units that preserve the architectural character of the building while improving insulation properties. Masonry repairs and repointing, and roof replacement will ensure that this building serves the University long into the 21st Century.

James Hall is currently in the demolition stage and officially closed to the general public.

Construction Schedule is September 2008 with a completion date of November 2009 and ready for a move between the Fall and Spring Semester breaks of 2009/2010.

The James Hall Renovation has been officially registered with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to seek LEED Certification.
