Welcome
Thank you for visiting the University of New Hampshires Disability Services for Students website. We are pleased to provide you with a detailed listing of our services and support for students with documented disabilities.
As each students needs are unique, the provision of services is designed individually. Support is determined by the nature of the disability, requirements of the curriculum or program of study, and the expectations in the classroom.
The main campus is located in Durham, New Hampshire about 25 minutes from the sea coast. The rolling terrain is beautifully wooded with pathways cut for building access. Designated parking is available in much of the academic core as well.
Most academic buildings are accessible. For those that are not, a more appropriate venue will be secured for course sessions. To assure accessible classrooms, priority registration is provided for students who are wheel-chair users.
The University of New Hampshire believes that students have the right and also the responsibility to determine whether or not to take advantage of support services. Please note: support services do not provide students with any advantage over their peers; rather they help to level the playing field permitting equal access to the University environment.
We invite you to connect with us to learn first hand about the variety of options available to students with physical, medical, psychiatric or learning disabilities. For more information, please contact Disability Services for Students at (603) 862-2607 V/TTY.
