Carsey Institute
The Carsey Institute supports interdisciplinary research
that informs policy makers and practitioners working to improve the well-being
of families and build healthy, sustainable, and equitable communities in
New England and nationally. It provides resources and programs to support
faculty development for research in the social sciences and health fields.
It supports opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to participate
in interdisciplinary policy research on families and communities, and to
engage directly in programs working with families and communities (with eight
affiliated centers).

Institute on Disability (IOD)/University Center for Excellence on Disability
(UCED)
The IOD provides a coherent, University-based
focus for improvement of knowledge, policies, and practices related to
persons with disabilities and their families. It advances policies and
systems changes, promising practices, education, and research that strengthen
communities and ensure full access, equal opportunities, and participation
for all persons. It is one of 61 National Centers for Excellence supported
by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Justiceworks
A collaborative consortium of academicians and professionals
that conducts research in justice studies and offers an array of balanced,
non-partisan services addressing issues in crime, safety, security, and
the administration of justice.

N.H. Institute for Health Policy and Practice
(NHIHPP)
The institute is a
formal alliance between the N.H. Department of Health and Human Services,
UNH, and Dartmouth Medical School to develop and disseminate policy and
practice information to improve the health and well-being of N.H.’s citizens.
It serves as a focal point to assist state and private agencies in conducting
health services research and analysis and evaluations for fact-based
policy development and improvement of the health care system.

Northeast Passage
Northeast Passage creates an environment where individuals
with disabilities can recreate with the same freedom of choice, quality
of life, and independence as their non-disabled peers. This is done by
developing, delivering, and evaluating innovative adapted sport, recreation,
health promotion, and inclusion programs. The program promotes client independence
through education and problem solving, creating opportunities, and collaborating
with others to create a strong network of accessible recreation.

Speech-Language-Hearing Center
The UNH Speech-Language-Hearing Center has
served the special communication needs of individuals in the surrounding
and University community for more than 40 years and offers state-of-the-art
diagnostic and therapeutic speech, language, and hearing services to
individuals of all ages. Its services are provided by graduate students
in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders under the close
supervision of experienced faculty. Supervising faculty are state licensed
and nationally certified speech language pathologists or audiologists.
All programs meet the ethical and professional standards established
by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the New Hampshire
Board of Allied Health Professionals.

UNH Center on Adolescence
The center works collaboratively with others dedicated
to supporting adolescents and helping youth make a successful transition
to adulthood. It provides research capacity, education, and state-of-the-art
information that support the health and well-being of adolescents in
New Hampshire. It serves as a gateway to valid, current information about
adolescents that will be useful to professionals, parents, and youth
themselves.
