CI-UNH calls for participation in Chinese New Year Celebration on January 26, 2012 at UNH

Note: The Celebration date has changed and will now be held on January 31, not January 26. More information.

CI-UNH will hold its 2012 Chinese New Year (the year of the Dragon) Celebration on Thursday, January 26 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. in the Johnson Theatre at UNH. CI-UNH has been working with several top musicians and artists in China. The event will include programs such as: Sichuan Opera Face Mask Switching; Chinese Martial Arts, one episode of Peking Opera in Ballet “The White Haird Girl”; Chinese Pipa Solo etc.

To make this a true celebration for all Chinese language students in NH, CI-UNH cordially invites each school district with a Chinese language program to participate in this joyous occasion. Students and teachers are encouraged to sign up for 1-2 programs for that evening. Please email CI-UNH codirector Yige Wang (yige@comcast.net) your program ideas with a brief description. Once approved, your program will be formally added to the final program list for that evening. Johnson Theatre is one of the best theatre venues in NH. Parents are also encouraged to attend.

A Chinese buffet dinner will be provided for all participants at 5:00 in a nearby building.

Seating is limited in the Johnson Theatre, so please sign up early by contacting yige@comcast.net.

CI-UNH may be able to sponsor up to $100 production cost for your program if you have proper receipts. Please contact Yige Wang for more details.
