CI-UNH student Joshua Richards starts teaching at CDU

October 14, 2011

Former CI-UNH student Joshua Richards has started teaching English at CDU (Chengdu University) this fall. With the establishment of CI-UNH in October of 2010, there have been many multi-level collaborations between UNH and UNH’s partner school CDU. In the past two years, CDU has sent six of its faculty members to teach Chinese language at UNH and UNH-Manchester. In return, UNH sent six students this past summer to study Chinese at CDU. Two UNH faculty members are scheduled to deliver lectures at CDU shortly. CI-UNH is organizing another student group to study Chinese at CDU in the summer of 2012.

Mr. Richards was warmly welcomed at CDU. CDU president Zhou Jiliu hosted him separately. The Department of International Cooperation and Exchange at CDU arranged a dorm for him and has offered free Chinese language classes so he can continue to advance his language skills. Richards is the first UNH student to live and work at CDU.
