Admission
We
admit PhD candidates to the program beginning in the fall semester
only and only with financial
aid. For that reason, your complete PhD application packets is due
when the financial support application is due, which is usually January
15.

To
be admitted to the Ph.D. program the student must have a master's
degree or be in the final stage of
completing requirements for the degree.

Application Materials
The Graduate School now
prefers
online
applications and the application fee to be paid by credit card;
collect and submit all additional supporting materials in one packet.
In addition to the materials requested by the Graduate School, all
English PhD applicants must submit a Teaching
Assistantship Application Form. (For requirements specific
to the English graduate programs, please see English
Graduate Program website.)
International applicants must also submit a TOEFL score
report with the application packet.
GRE General Test is required, but for PhD in Composition Studies,
Subject Test (literature) is not required.
Send all application materials
to the Gradaute School (not to the English Department).
