2012 University Teaching Excellence Award 
It is with great pleasure that the Department of Communication announces that Professor Joshua Meyrowitz is a 2012 recipient of the University Teaching Excellence Award in the College of Liberal Arts. Professor Meyrowitz's record shows he is a consummate teacher whose overall record exhibits the level of excellent teaching and care of students that marks a distinguished career. Students acknowledge the amount of time and effort Professor Meyrowitz puts into his teaching, his high level of energy and enthusiasm, and the magnitude of attention he gives them, regardless of their academic strengths and weaknesses. He has a reputation of encouraging his students to think for themselves rather than simple follow "accepted wisdom."
