Q. What if I miss the commencement fair? Is that the only way to get my cap and gown?
A. No, you can pick up a cap and gown the week of commencement at the Elliot Alumni Center or order your cap and gown directly from University Cap and Gown. Click here for more information.

Q. How long will it take?
A. We suggest you plan on spending an hour in order to take advantage of everything the Fair has to offer.

Q. What if I don't want to attend the Commencement Ceremony and I don't need a cap and gown. Can I skip the Commencement Fair?
A. The Commencement Fair offers much more than an opportunity to get your cap and gown. There will be many other participating companies, departments and resources available to assist you in preparing for the big day!

Q. Can I still register for the Grad Cruise and the Last Blast Grad Picnic if I miss the Fair?
A. You can! Just contact the Alumni Association.

Q. My parents wanna know…..
A. The Commencement Office will be available to answer all your questions and ease anxieties about the big day.

Q. Do I have to go to the Commencement Fair?
A. No, but it will make your life easier. Attendance at the Commencement Fair is not required, but is highly recommended. All of the departments, organizations and resources that can provide you with information and things you need to help you prepare for graduation are all in one place.

Q. Is the Commencement Fair just for undergrads?
A. No, Commencement Fair is for undergrads and grad students and Thompson School students. Students who aren't yet graduating may also find helpful resources and information and are welcome to attend.

Q. Do I need to bring anything?
A. Yes, check out this list of things you should bring.

Q. How much does a cap and gown cost?

A. Undergrads: $15.00 – (12.50 for your cap and gown + optional $2.50 for your class reunion fund),
Master Students: $24.30, Ph.D. candidateshave the option of renting or purchasing regalia.

The Class of 1958 has pledged $2008.00 for the Class of 2008 reunion fund. This $2.50 will go toward matching that donation!

Q. Do I have to buy my cap and gown? Can’t I just rent it?
A. UNH has negotiated a contract with University Cap and Gown that actually makes it cheaper for you to purchase your regalia rather than rent it.
