The Process
“The Campus Master Plan Update is an important next step in the implementation of the Strategic Plan. I encourage all members of our community to participate and share their thoughts and ideas as we update this important framework for campus development and renovations.” President Mark Huddleston
To respond to these opportunities, the University has embarked on a focused update of the Campus Master Plan that will provide a “light touch” to the balance of the plan. A Steering Committee and a representative Campus Master Planning Committee have been established. A team consisting of UNH Campus Planning staff along with two outside consultants, Architerra Inc. of Boston and JBA 1ncorporated of Fort Collins, CO, will gather data; evaluate scenarios for consideration; and develop recommendations to the President with the intent of establishing an updated Campus Master Plan by the fall 2012. Trustee approval will be sought at a later date. Meetings with various constituent groups to define space needs will take place during the fall and spring semesters and the analysis and planning will follow in the spring and summer 2012. To encourage input and feedback from campus and town constituents throughout the process, public forums will be held to share ideas and encourage dialog in both the fall and spring. The final draft plan will be available for public comment in the fall 2012 prior to submission to the President. In addition, detailed information will be posted regularly on the web at http://www.unh.edu/cmp/ and on social media outlets to facilitate participation. Comments and suggestions can be shared at cmp.ideas@unh.edu.
