UNH 2005 Ring Ceremony

The Ring Ceremony is the public induction of candidates into the Order of the Engineer, during which the engineer candidates formally accept the Obligation of an Engineer and receive a stainless steel ring to be worn as a symbol on the fifth finger of the working hand.

 

Students Without Borders (SWB):

The UNH Students Without Borders Chapter is a student chapter of the national organization of Engineers Without Borders (http://www.ewb-usa.org/). The mission of Students Without Borders-UNH is to establish an organization that encourages, supports, and implements environmentally and economically sustainable technical projects in disadvantaged communities nationally and internationally, while developing globally responsible and knowledgeable students.

Society of Women Engineers (SWE):

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE), founded in 1950, is a non-profit educational and service organization. SWE is the driving force that establishes engineering as a highly desirable career aspiration for women. SWE empowers women to succeed and advance in those aspirations and be recognized for their life-changing contributions and achievements as engineers and leaders.

Tau Beta Pi:

There is an active chapter of Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society, in the College. Outstanding students from all four engineering departments who meet the rigorous academic standards are eligible. The society performs a number of community outreach projects each year. They have also established the Outstanding Engineering Teacher Award, which is given to one faculty member in each engineering department on an annual basis.
