Graduate Program: Student Life 
The graduate students in the CE department are a friendly bunch from different parts of the U.S. and the world. Some are recent college graduates and some have had work experience and decided to come back for more education. The highly varied backgrounds of the graduate students create a more interesting and intellectually more stimulating atmosphere in the department.
The graduate students in the CE department have bachelor degrees in one of the following fields: civil engineering, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, geology or biology. They are all intellectually curious people who try to make the best of their time at UNH during their short stay. Other than indulging in academic activities such as class work, research, conferences and departmental presentations they get involved in outdoor activities, exercising, musical instruments or just relaxing.
