Biography

Ray Cook was born in Evanston, Illinois on 12 February 1957. He received A.B. and B.S.C.E. degrees from the University of Illinois in 1981 and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Cornell University in 1991 and 1992 respectively. Since August of 1992, he has been a member of the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of New Hampshire. He is a member of Sigma Delta Pi, Tau Beta Pi, 
Chi Epsilon, ASCE, and ACI. He has received awards from Cornell University and from Tau Beta Pi for teaching and from the New Hampshire Section of ASCE. He is currently serving on the ACI Committees 201, 211, and 225.

Teaching Interests

Structural design of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, civil engineering materials, and structural steel.

Research Overview

High performance concrete for use in highway structures and concrete microstructure.

Awarded the Jean Brierley Teaching Award, Excellence in Teaching Award in 2012.

Awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2004.
