JESSE SIPPLE, EIT

Research Assistant

Jesse Sipple is a graduate student working on his Master's Degree in Structural Engineering. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire in civil engineering in May 2007. He worked at Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc. as an intern during his undergraduate summer/winter vacations for the survey and site/civil groups. Jesse is working on structural health monitoring, parameter estimation, and model updating under Professor Erin Bell. He is writing his thesis on the Rollins Road Bridge Project with hopes of handing over a model on how to integrate structural health monitoring into the New Hampshire Department of Transportation's assessment management system. He has also done a lot of work with the new shake table. Jesse plans on graduating with his masters in December 2008 and then continuing on for his PhD at Tufts University in Boston, MA. Jesse is an invaluable part of our research team and is a delight to have around.

JOHN WELCH, EIT

Research Assistant

Jack Welch is a Graduate Research Assistant working on a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering. His research is focused on Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of bridges using current and new Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) instrumentation. He is developing a model updating program based on parameter estimation using the SHM and ITS data. Jack is set to graduate in the Spring of 2009. Jack is an integral part of our research team and is a joy to have around.

JAKE CARMODY, EIT

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Jake Carmody is an undergraduate civil engineering major. He has interned at Vanasse & Associates Inc., a transportation engineering company, for the past two summers. He was an editor for the TNH last fall and this summer, Jake is working under Professor Bell and Professor Medina as an undergraduate research assistant. He has been given the task of instrumentation planning for specimens to be tested on the new shake table and coordination of the data acquisition system. Jake plans to focus on structural engineering in his final year before graduation in 2009. He is a pleasure to have around.

KEVIN BURUCHIAN

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Kevin Buruchian is an undergraduate civil engineering major. Has been a sailing instructor for the past three years and works a lot within the sailing community. Kevin is working under Professor Medina and Professor Bell as an undergraduate research assistant. Kevin is handling the scaling and building of the model structure which will be tested on the new shake table later this summer. Kevin plans to focus in structural civil engineering graduating in the spring of 2009 with a Civil Engineering degree and finishing up an Ocean Engineering minor in the fall of 2009. He sure is a swell guy.
