The UNH Webmail system is unavailable as of 1:20pm Tuesday, 10/31/06. System administrators
are aware of the problem and hope to have service restored by 2:00pm, 10/31/06.

All electrical power and connectivity has been restored as of 9:53am, 10/31/06.

An electrical problem has been identified as the source of the network outage affecting Holloway Commons,
the MUB and surrounding areas. Telecommunications staff is aware of the problem and
working to restore service by identifying the failing electrical component and restoring
network connectivity as quickly as possible.

The University campus is currently experiencing an unscheduled network outage. This outage
appears to be affecting Holloway Commons, Hitchcock Hall, Randall Hall, the Memorial Union
Building and surrounding area buildings. Telecommunications staff is aware of the problem and
working to restore service as soon as possible.
UNH E-mail (Webmail) Unavailable - 10/30/06
The UNH E-mail (Webmail) system was unavailable starting during the evening hours of Monday,
10/30/06. System administrators detected the problem and as of 11:39am Tuesday, 10/31/06,
all UNH Webmail services are available.
Unscheduled G4 Network Outage - 10/30/06; 11:32am
The G4 Network is currently experiencing an unscheduled network outage. This outage
may affect connectivity to sites including CLL, Concord IOD and Co-Operative Extensions.
Telecommunications staff is aware of the problem and working to restore service as quickly
as possible.

The CIS Training Web site (http://training.unh.edu) is available as of 9:21am Monday, 10/30/2006.

Users attempting to register for a course should contact the Help Desk at 862-4242 to speak with a representative.
While the Web Site remains unavailable, Help Desk staff continue to process manual registrations.
System administrators are aware of the outage and working to restore service as quickly as possible.
Unscheduled Network Interruption - 10/30/06; 8:36am
The UNH network experienced a brief service interruption on Monday, 10/30/06 affecting
connectivity in Kingsbury Hall, Gregg Hall and 1 Leavitt Lane. Service was restored by
8:36am Monday, 10/20/06. If you are unable to connect, please reboot your computer.

The WISE Employee Information System and WebTest are unavailable as of 11:56am Thursday,
10/26/06. System administrators are aware of the problem with working to restore
service as quickly as possible.
CISUNIX Server Reboot (Zeno) - 10/26/06; 10:30am
The CISUNIX server Zeno is being rebooted at of 10:30am Thursday, 10/26/06. This reboot
may affect some users ability to login to POP3 client software, such as Eudora or Outlook
Express. Expected downtime should not exceed 15 minutes.
VMS Bridge, Banner Documentation and Student Password Changer Unavailable - 10/25/06; UPDATE 8:11am

The VMS bridge, BANNER documentation and the password changer for BANNER Student are currently unavailable
due to a hardware failure. The system administrators are currently looking at the problem and will notify the Help Desk as soon as

The VMS mySQL application is experiencing functional problems on Monday, 10/23/06 at
9:09am. System administrators are aware of the problem and working to restore service
as quickly as possible.
Unscheduled Network Outage - Thursday, October 19, 2006 UPDATE 2:00pm
The unscheduled network outage has been resolved. It was related to a loss of service in
the Washington DC area by one of our service providers. Users should not experience access
issues to any web pages.

The University campus is currently experiencing an unscheduled network outage. Some
off-campus web pages appear to be unavailable. On-campus web pages appear to be unaffected.
Telecommunications staff is aware of the problem and working to restore service as soon
as possible.
Unscheduled Network Outage -10/19/06;
The UNH Network experienced a brief outage on the Orange subnet affecting some ability to connect
to the AD and Exchange servers. System administrators resolved the problem by 5:13am Thursday,
10/19/06.
Unscheduled Network Outage - 10/18/06; UPDATE 10:28am
Network technicians have identified and repaired a failed network router, restoring all connectivity
as of 10:28am Wednesday, 10/18/06. Any users experiencing problems connecting should reboot their
computer.

Network technicians have identified a failed network router causing a loss of connectivity
to all students on-campus. Telecommunications staff is aware of the problem and working to
restore service as soon as possible.

The University campus is currently experiencing an unscheduled network outage.
This outage appears to be affecting only data connections in student residence halls.

Blackboard Test Environment Unavailable - 10/17/06; 3:14pm
The Blackboard test environment is unavailable as of 3:14pm on Tuesday, 10/17/06. System
administrators are aware of the problem and working to restore service as quickly as possible.
Network Registration Problem - 10/17/06; UPDATE 8:56am
The Network Registration database has been restored as of 8:56am Tuesday, 10/17/06. Users should
reboot their computers to restore connectivity to the UNH Network.
System administrators were only able to restore data prior to Friday, 10/13/06. Any users who registered
on the UNH faculty/staff network after Friday, 10/13/06 will need to re-register by visiting
https://register.unh.edu.
Network Registration Problem - 10/17/06; 8:31am
The faculty/staff network registration database experienced a partial corruption during
scheduled system jobs causing approximately half of the network registrations to be unavailable.
This is causing some faculty/staff users to experience loss of AD/Exchange connectivity as well as
browser redirecting to the Network Registration page.
System administrators are restoring all data
and should have all systems online by 9:00am Tuesday, 10/17/06. If you are unable to connect or
experiencing network registration problems, please reboot your computer after 9:00am to restore
your registration.
Comcast Blacklisting UNH E-mail - 10/10/06
UNH e-mail system administrators recently noticed any unh.edu domain e-mails were being rejected by
Comcast servers, resulting in any e-mail sent from unh.edu to Comcast to bounce. System administrators
were able to contact Comcast and resolve the problems, allowing all e-mail to send correctly. If you
experience any problems sending e-mail, please contact the Help Desk at 603-862-4242.
Unscheduled Partial Network Outage Resolved -10/09/06; UPDATE 12:53pm
The problem with the Orange subnet has been resolved. If you are experiencing problems connecting to AD/VPN or
Outlook Exchange, please notify the Help Desk at 862-4242.
Unscheduled Partial Network Outage - 11:30am - 10/09/06;
The University campus is currently experiencing an unscheduled network outage on the Orange subnet. This outage
will prevent some users from accessing AD and Outlook Exchange e-mail. Telecommunications staff is aware of the problem and working
to restore service as soon as possible.
Blackboard Service Problem -10/09/06; UPDATE 10:15am
All Blackboard servers are currently available. The problem with the server Chalk has been resolved.
Blackboard Server Problem - 9:00am - 10/09/06;
The Blackboard server Chalk is currently unavailable. This is one of four Blackboard servers, and the remaining three
servers are fine. If your connection to Blackboard arrives at Chalk, your login attempt will fail. You should clear the
cache on your browser, and attempt to connect to Blackboard again. The Blackboard Administrators have been notified and are
working diligently to resolve the problem.
Myers/Dunlap Phone Service Problem - 9:00am, UPDATE 12:11pm
Phone service has been restored as of 12:11pm Friday, 10/06/06. Users may experience intermittent problems
with static and echoes on the phone lines. Telecommunications technicians are working to resolve these issues
as quickly as possible.
Myers/Dunlap Phone Service Problem - 9:00am - 10/06/06;
Due to a faulty Verizon circuit between the UNH Durham campus and the phone system located at Dunlap Center in
Lee, phone service to and from the Dunlap Center has been interrupted. Phone service within and between the buildings at the
Dunlap center are not impacted at this time. Verizon has been notified and a technician has been dispatched and is working
diligently to resolve the problem.
