Service Outage Log File - September 2002
September 30, 2002 4:30 pm - UNICEL cellular phone services experienced a 15 minute outage. Services are now restored.
September 29, 2002 - Network Outage 8:45-8:50 AM
A module in a piece of network hardware was not functioning correctly, and was rebooted to clear
a connectivity issue. All Internet and Wide Area Network services were disrupted periodically
during this time for UNH, UNHM, CLL, Cooperative Extension Services, USNH System offices, Jackson
Labs, ORHS, and Neat Networks.
Additionally, intercampus WAN services were disrupted among UNH, Plymouth State College, Keene
State College, and UNHM. This affected Internet service for Dartmouth, Plymouth, Keene and
GSDLN, and Internet 2 service for UNH. This did not affect Internet 2 services to Dartmouth and
UVM, and did not affect voice and video services for any of the campuses/networks noted. We
apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for all your patience.
September 25, 2002 - WebMail Downtime
WebMail will be unavailable for approximately 20-30 minutes between
7:30am and 8:00am on Wednesday September 25. Any open WebMail sessions
will be terminated during this period. (So you probably don't
want to be composing mail when the server goes away.) This message
will be removed when the system comes back.
Tru64 CIS Unix Systems Downtime
The Tru64 CIS Unix systems will be unavailable while OS patches are installed according to the following schedule:
Alberti: Monday, September 16 8:00am-8:30am
Hypatia: Tuesday, September 17 8:00am-8:30am
Franklin: Wednesday, September 18 8:00am-8:30am
Times are approximate, and we hope somewhat exaggerated.
Other systems should remain available while one is down.
Franklin is not available for general login, but does host a number of account management tasks. Web-based account management functions (password change, account setups, etc.) won't be available while Franklin is down.
