System Changes

System Change - August 2002

UPDATE: August 20, 2002 8:10am - NetBIOS Services from Off Campus
To protect the UNH campus from continuing problems that are originating on the Internet, Windows File sharing from off campus to on campus is limited at this time. If you are unable to reach campus based Microsoft Windows file sharing, or other related services from outside of the campus, please try using VPN. You will find the VPN software and instructions at http://www.unh.edu/computer-security/vpn.html. To use VPN, you will also need a valid AD account.

In the unlikely event that you experience problems accessing the Microsoft Exchange server with Microsoft outlook from off campus, you can also try accessing the Exchange server through your web browser, at https://exchange.unh.edu/exchange/logon.asp. Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining a safe computing environment at UNH.

Friday, 8/30 - Webster platform moving to Netatalk
Webster (the old pubpages platform) also provided Netatalk file service to Macintosh machines; this won't work anymore, starting Friday. People wishing to mount their Unix home directories on their Mac desktops should specify the hostname 'netatalk.unh.edu' instead of webster.unh.edu.
