Continued testing is being scheduled for between 3:00 and 6:00 AM tomorrow morning (Wednesday). This testing will involve UNH staff, PaeTec, and other service providers. This testing could cause, in an organized fashion, a disconnection on any active connections from callers to UNH. The time frame was selected based on lowest usage statistics of UNH phone system. At no time should service be down. PaeTec will work with one DS3 communication line at a time, leaving the other line up. Should anyone experience a lack of service on first try, please redial your number.

This testing will involve UNH staff, PaeTec, and other service providers. July 12, 2002 - Service problem announcement from PaeTec
NOTE: PaeTec is one of UNH's telephone service providers.

There is a National Problem with SS7 from Illuminet that is affecting the entire country sporadically with Toll Free and Long Distance Calls. You may experience Dead Air or Fast Busies. There is a large Fiber cut in the Atlanta area on MCI's network. This fiber cut has taken down many of Illuminet's links and has caused congestion within the SS7 network. MCI has given a 2 hour window to be on site and repairing the problem. This issue is affecting almost every carrier across the country.

This means that USNH clients may experience intermittent problems completing in-state and out-of-state long distance phone calls.

July 12, 2002 - Webmail Upgrade Downtime (Rescheduled)

The CIS Unix WebMail software will be upgraded on Friday, July 12. (Rescheduled from July 5.) This involves installation and configuration of a number of individual software packages with complex relationships with each other. This will almost certainly cause periods during the day where WebMail service won't be available, as well as times where it may not be working with its full functionality. Every effort will be made to minimize these service outages. But we're not promising anything.

All CIS Unix systems and other services should remain available during this time.
