Service Interruptions - February 2004
Network Outage - Leavitt Lane Buildings - 02/26/04
At approximately 10:15 Telecom Technicians identified a problem with a backup
power supply which caused a switch in PAMS to go off-line. The following buildings or
departments in the Leavitt Lane area were affected by this switch being off-line:
PAMS Print Shop & Mail Services, SBCT, Carpentry Shop, Library Storage. Telecom
technicians reported that the switch was back on-line at 10:30am.

Network Connectivity Outage in Hetzel Hall - 02/25/04
Students reported connectivity problems in Hetzel Hall,
starting at approximately 9:00am this morning (02/25/04).
Telecom confirmed that there was a problem and connectivity was

Network Outage - 2/24/04
The University campus experienced a brief network outage lasting about 30 seconds at around 10:40am.

Modem Pool Outage - 2/23/04
The University modem pool experienced a temporary outage from 2/20/04 until 1:15pm, 2/23/04.
Service to the modem pool is restored and users should now be able to connect. This web page

Microsoft Exchange Outage - 2/23/04 - UPDATE 8:23am
All Microsoft Exchange connectivity should now be restored as of 8:23am, Monday, 2/23/04. If you continue
to experience Microsoft Exchange connectivity problems, please reboot your computer. This web page will have

Microsoft Exchange Outage - 2/23/04
The University campus is currently experiencing an unscheduled Microsoft Exchange outage
that may affect certain users trying to connect to Exchange.
CIS staff are aware of the problem and are working to restore service as soon as

Unscheduled Network Outage - 2/12/04; 8:35am
The University campus experienced an unscheduled network outage this morning affecting all ResNet Halls.
Telecommunications found the source of the problem and all network connections should now be restored.

Campus-Wide Virus Risk - 2/5/04
The University campus is currently investigating the spread of an unknown virus.
Symptoms include port scanning and TCP sweeps across the UNH Network. This type
of behavior is draining network resources and slowing network connections. Campus
computers found to be exhibiting such symptoms are being disconnected from the network
until such time those computers are deemed secure for network access. This web page

Unscheduled Network Outage - 2/4/04; 7:50pm
There was a brief loss of connectivity to the Internet. All
services were restored as of 7:50pm.
This outage affected commodity Internet services for UNH, PSU,
KSC, CLL, CES, USNH Systems Office, Jackson Labs, UNHM, NHCTC,
GSDLN, and NEAT networks. It also affected Internet2 services for
UNH, PSU, and KSC. WAN services for KSC and PSU were not affected.
Internet2 switching services for Dartmouth were not affected.
