Unscheduled Student Network Outage - 3:45pm, 01/30/04
There was a brief network outage experienced on the University campus this afternoon. The student firewall was rebooted and the problem should now be resolved. Unscheduled Network Outage - UPDATE 9:34am, 1/29/04
All network connectivity has been restored as of 9:34am Thursday, 1/29/04. The network interruption was caused by an electrical event at the Network Operations Center that should not have affected the network. Steps have been taken to determine why it did impact the network, and to avoid similar events in the future. If you continue to experience connectivity problems, please reboot your computer. Network Interruption - 01/09/04; UPDATE 9:13am
All network connectivity has been restored as of 8:23am Friday, 1/9. Telecommunications staff have determined the cause to be directly related to the recent electrical upgrades. Network hardware underwent a tremendous strain during various power cycles causing some of these hardware components to fail unexpectedly. Following replacement of suspect hardware, all network connectivity and resources were restored.
