Trojan Removal Page
Listed below are several products
that we have found useful in dealing with Trojans. These are Freeware/Shareware products with at least partial
functionality without licensing. Please note that non of these are on the CIS
Supported products list so very little, if any, help is available with regard
to their use. However we will provide
assistance in using them as far as is related to cleaning and protecting an
existing system.
- Lockdown 2000. This is a program designed to block
incoming Trojan attacks, as well as detecting existing Trojans on your
system. It does a very nice job of
identifying incoming traffic and tracks back hack possible malicious
traffic to its source. This is the
free 10 day trial version. It will
not remove Trojans without licensing it.
If you do wish to license it please contact Workstation Support at cis.workstation.support@unh.edu. Due to previous purchases we have a
much lower price than Harbor-Telco’s general price.
- Trojan
Remover. This product is
specific to detecting and removing Trojans. While it does not provide the firewall capabilities that
Lockdown does, it is as good at detection and removal as any product we’ve
found so far. However, it is
specific to Windows 9x and will not function on Windows NT/2000
- Tauscan. This is a good detection and removal
product that does work on NT/2000.
For more advanced users ZoneAlarm
and Trojan Defense System 2 both are good personal firewall products.
If you need additional assistance, please submit a request to the
Help Desk.
