about us
The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of New Hampshire offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering. At the BS level, all the courses in the department are taught by full-time
faculty, and many of our undergraduates are engaged in research and summer internships. At the M.S. and PhD level, we offer
research opportunities in biomedical engineering, biochemical engineering, electrochemical engineering, separations,
advanced materials, polymer engineering, reaction engineering and environmental engineering. All of our graduate students
are fully supported by teaching or research assistantships.
The department has 8 faculty members, over 150 undergraduate students, and 15 graduate students. Faculty in Chemical Engineering also advise undergraduate students in the Enviromental Engineering - Industrial Processes (ENE-IP) track. The department offers three options in the areas of bioengineering, energy and the environment.
Undergraduate students are encouraged to participate in engineering internships over the summer and many students participate in the pollution prevention (P2) program. Many of our students have been successful in securing internships in local industries in New Hampshire and in the greater Boston area. We have an excellent placement record. Some students start their career in industry whereas others choose to go on to graduate school to specialize and obtain advanced degrees in diverse fields such as biochemical engineering, biomedical engineering, materials science, management, patent law, etc.
The Chemical Engineering Program at UNH is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, located at:
