The Marriage of Figaro is a riotous comedy where the virtuous unmask the immoral and the quick-witted servants undo their scheming masters. The Count's servant, Figaro, is arranging the final plans for his wedding to his beloved Suzanne, when he stumbles upon his master's plot to evoke the ancient right of droit de seigneur. Can Figaro stop the Count or will the virtuous Suzanne stay a step head of everyone? Powered by a strong ensemble cast, The Marriage of Figaro also features a live orchestra and will be performed in the original Italian with projected sub titles.
Mozart Festival Opera, the sister company of Teatro Lirico D’Europa, made its U.S. debut in November 2003 with a production of Don Giovanni. Critics raved about the outstanding cast of singers as well as the excellent, detailed stage direction and attractive sets and costumes. All of the soloists are professionals with international experience who have performed major roles with important companies in the U.S. and Europe.
