All

specifically noted.
Where
Jesus lives,the
great-hearted gather.
We are a
door that's
never locked.
If you are suffering
any kind of pain,
stay near this door.
Open it.
-- Rumi
Now
I walk in Beauty,
Beauty is before me,
Beauty is behind me,
above and below me.
-- Navaho Prayer
Set
me as a seal upon
your heart, as a seal
upon your arm;
for love is as strong
as death, passion fierce
as the grave, its flashes
are flashes of fire,
a raging flame.
Many waters cannot quench love, neither
can floods drown it.
If one offered for love all
the wealth of his house,
it would be utterly scorned.
-- Song of Songs
8:6-7
Stay
with us, because
it is almost evening and
the day is nearly over.
So he went in to stay
with them.
When he was at the
table with them, he
took bread, blessed
and broke it and gave
it to them.
Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished
from their sight.
--Luke 24:29-31
Many
of us who are exploring our
relationships to one another have decided
to ditch the hyphens altogether.
We are speaking of
"the Abrahamic
tradition" instead,
and while we are discovering almost
as much about what
divides us as we are
about what unites us,
we are naive enough
to believe that the peace
of the earth depends on
our engagement--on that,
and on our faith in the
one God who has given
us all the same vision of
a world made new.
-- Barbara Brown Taylor
Power
at its best is
love implementing the
demands of justice.
Justice at its best is love correcting everything
that stands against love. --Martin
Luther King, Jr.
There
are others
who know about this miracle birth...the humblest of people
catch a glimpse
of their worth.
For it isn't to the
palace that the Christ
child comes, but to shepherds and
street people, hookers
and bums...
And the message is
clear if you have ears
to hear. Forgiveness is given for your guilt and your fears.
It's a Christmas gift
that you don't have
to buy, a future shining
in a baby's eye...
--Bruce Cockburn
Centuries
of fear have ears that cannot hear; an eye for an eye until everyone is
blind.
--Tommy Sands
God
is not a Republican or a Democrat-- Sojourners
Community
Never place a period where God has put a
comma--Gracie Allen...God is still speaking:
