Online 2014 Benefits Open Enrollment Available Through Nov. 1

From now through Nov. 1 employees can go online and make changes to their medical and dental plans, opting to switch health care plans, open or add funds to a flexible spending account (FSA) or change the particulars of life insurance benefits.

Doing nothing means your existing core benefits will remain the same in 2014. Changes take effect Jan. 1, 2014.

Log on to MyUSNHBenefits.net here to review your benefits and make any changes for the coming year. This is where you sign up your eligible dependents for health insurance coverage, designate the beneficiaries of your life insurance, and add funds to your Flexible Savings Account. FSAs do not automatically renew; you must indicate the amount you want to contribute to the account each year.

You can always view your benefits information at MyUSNHBenefits but changes can only be made once a year during open enrollment unless you have a qualifying status change such as, but not limited to, marriage, divorce, becoming widowed, or the birth or adoption of a child. In the event of such, you have 30 days from the time of the event to make changes to your benefits.

You can read about qualifying status changes here.

New this year to Harvard Pilgrim health care options is the Choice Plan, which has no copays or referral requirements. Additionally, USNH will contribute to an HSA for those eligible employees who opt for the new plan.

To help you decided which HP plan is right for you, Human Resources has posted a comparison chart on their website that lists the pertinent information for the Choice, HMO and POS plans, including costs for everything from deductibles to coinsurance to testing fees. Read the details here.
