Provost Announces Nominees for Interim Library Dean, and Timeline to Complete Search Process

Wednesday, December 05, 2012

Three nominees for the position of interim dean of the UNH Library will be available at open forums for the university community during the week of Dec. 10.

Following an open process of community discussions and anonymous nominations, three candidates have applied for the interim dean position: Annie Donahue, humanities chair and library director, UNH Manchester; Bill Ross, Special Collections librarian, Dimond Library; and Elizabeth Slomba, faculty chair and university archivist, Dimond Library.

The forums will take place as follows:

Bill Ross – Wednesday, Dec. 12, noon – 1 p.m., MUB Theater I

Elizabeth Slomba – Thursday, Dec.13, 12:40 - 1:40 p.m., MUB Theater I

Annie Donahue – Thursday, Dec. 13, 3 – 4 p.m., MUB Theater I

All members of the campus community are encouraged to attend and provide input to the selection process. The events will be recorded and videos will be available, along with other updates, on the provost’s website (www.unh.edu/provost), and the library web page.

Nominations are now being collected for 5-7 faculty and staff, both from within Dimond Library and across campus, to serve as a review team for the duration of the search process.  Provost John Aber has asked Lisa MacFarlane, senior vice provost for academics, to chair the review team.

The review team will be formed by the end of the week of Dec. 7 and will deliver their recommendations to the provost by Dec. 18.
