Special Events Calendar

The Globe TheaterThe summer of 2010 will offer special lectures and events as well as scheduled classes and excursions. Cambridge University historians will give talks on such topics as Cambridge University, the British Education system, the monarchy, or the history of beer drinking in England. You may hear poetry and prose reading, or have the opportunity to participate in a student talent night as well.

Special events and program excursions in the summer of 2010 will be comparable to those for the summer of 2009 shown below.

Week I 

Monday  
  Noon – 4 P.M. Students arrive and check in.
  2:45 P.M. Tours of Caius.
  4:00 P.M. Tea in the Junior Combination Room (JCR) followed by a tour of the college.
  6:30 P.M. Dinner in Hall.
 
Tuesday  
  9 A.M. – 4 P.M. Classes begin, regular Tuesday/Thursday schedule.
  4:15 P.M. Program meeting in JCR.
 
Wednesday  
  9 A.M. – 4 P.M. Classes continue, regular Monday/Wednesday schedule.
  4:30 P.M. Paul Hartle gives lecture on Shakespeare’s Theatre in Bateman Auditorium.
 
Friday  
  9 A.M. – 4 P.M. Monday classes to make up lost day.
  7:00 P.M. Opening banquet begins with a party in the Senior Common Room.
  7:30 P.M. Dinner in the Fellows’ Dining Room.
 
Saturday  
  8:00 A.M. Depart for a day trip in London with a trip to the Globe Theatre for Midsummer Night’s Dream.
