SFC Sage Ladieu grew up in Gilford New Hampshire where he lettered in track and field, soccer and skiing. Outside of school he played hockey, boxed and kickboxed. SFC Ladieu is married to his wife Tammy and has two girls Aspen, Alexis and three dogs that currently live in Center Barnstead NH.
He has traveled all over the world while in the military including Asia, the Middle East, South America, Europe and Australia. Sage has served a total of 17 years of service with the Navy, Army and the New Hampshire Army National Guard. He brings 11 years of experience as an Infantry soldier. His enjoyments are family, mixed martial arts, kickboxing, running, hiking, skiing and riding his motorcycle and ATV. Sage is currently working on his Bachelors degree in Business Management from Post University RI.
During his time in the military SFC Ladieu served at many different duty stations and assignments. His Navy time consisted of working on the flight deck of the USS Constellation CV-64 as a Aviation Firefighter ABH-3. While on the USS Constellation, Sage served in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Shield and Operation No Fly Zone. He was also a member on the ship's rugby and boxing team.
From 1996-2005 SFC Ladieu served as an Infantry solder with Charlie Company 3/172 Infantry (Mountain). During his time with Charlie Company, he held many positions including infantry rifleman, lead climber, team and squad leader, and platoon sergeant. His mission consisted of training up to 30 solders to be able to perform infantry mountain tactics in any environment and under less than desirable conditions. During his time in the National Guard, SFC Ladieu has been activated to support New Hampshire during floods and ice storms, and to provide airport security.
From 2004-2005 SFC Ladieu Deployed to Iraq. During his deployment, SFC Ladieu's squad successfully performed over 200 combat missions without taking any losses or major injuries. His missions in Iraq consisted of infantry mounted and dismounted patrols to convoy security missions, personal security details and operating one of Iraq's largest relay points.
Since 2006, Sage has been working with the NH Army National Guard as a Recruiting and Retention NCO. His responsibilities have included enlisting and training solders for basic combat training.
SFC Ladieu brings a vast military education background to ROTC. His specialized training includes Mountain Warfare School, Airborne School, the Assault Climber Course, the Army Combatives Course, Aviation Warfare School, Total Army Instructor Course, Small Group Leader Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, and Recruiting and Retention School.
SFC Ladieu has been awarded the Bronze Star medal, 4 Army Commendation medals (2 with Valor), 2 Army Achievement medals, and the Combat Infantry badge, as well as good conduct, campaign, and service ribbons.
Outside of the military, Sage has competed in the Boston, Vermont, and Delmar Marathons, the Big Lake Half Marathon, Alton Triathlon, Mount Washington Tuckerman Inferno Pentathlon, Bataan Death March Marathon (Heavy Division), NH Tough Man Competition, New England Golden Gloves, and the Santa Barbara Ca Muay Thai Boxing Tournament. He currently plays for the Barley House Wolves hurling team. He is also a member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association and the American Legion.
