Les Miserables

Tour #1 – Saturday, April 6, 2013

Les Miserables, Hanover Theater, Worcester, MA

Departure: Durham 8:45 AM and Portsmouth 9:15 AM

Did you see Les Miserables, the movie? Wasn’t it fabulous? I agree! However, no matter how wonderful something can be on film, nothing compares to LIVE theater. The 25th anniversary production of this legendary musical is presented with glorious new staging and dazzling scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo. This new production has been acclaimed by critics and audiences and is breaking box office records everywhere it goes. Critics say the storytelling is clearer, the perspective grittier, and the motivations more honest and that this production actually exceeds the original. That it is a “five star hit and is astonishingly powerful”, states the London Times.

Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, Les Miserables is an epic and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score includes the classic songs “ I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Bring Him Home,” “One Day More,” ”Master of the House,” and “Empty Chairs and Empty Tables.”
