March 27 – Birth of a Nation:   Part 2 (1915, 86 min). Civil War Reconstruction era’s effects on a southern town and family. The film’s most controversial part.

April 3 – Love Trap  (1929, 71 min). The light society comedy form popular in all cinema eras. Here with a particularly fine scenario.

April 10 – Last Laugh (1925, 95 min). German: silent without subtitles. An Emil Jennings (The Blue Angel) tour de force.

April 17 – The Immigrant  (1917); The Cure (1917); A Dog’s Life (1918); The Rink (1916) (92 min). Chaplin enters Ellis Island, exists on roller skates.
