Novel Contrast Agent for Targeted Imaging

Structure of MRI contrast agent

We are synthetizing a new generation of contrast agents for contrast-enhanced  Magnetic Resonance  Imaging by creating stable polymeric particles containing a core made of  magnetite in crosslinked polystyrene, with a functional shell  of PEG-MAA coupled with a homing peptide. These particles are used for angiogenesis imaging.

Immunoliposomes for ovarian cancer therapy

 Structure of immunoliposomes

Liposomes are targeted toward cancer cells thanks to an antibody attached on their surface. DNA that codes for the Interleukin-18, a chemical messenger critical in cell immuno competentcy, is wrapped around a protamine to facilitate its encapsulation in the liposome.

Liposomes size is critical and controlled around 400nm by extrusion
