Erin Thesing:  The money from this fund as well as a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship will go toward my summer thesis research.   Erin will conduct qualitative research in the refugee English Language Learning community of Concord High schools.  Her research will seek to answer the following question: how do adolescent refugees create new or modified identities as they assimilate to the culture of a small, otherwise homogenous, New Hampshire city high school?

David Murcko: David will be using this money to help fund his research at an 18th-century Bryant-Barker tavern site in Walpole, ME.  He will be learning how to excavate and be the Project Director's Assistant.

Justin Linxweiler: Justin received the award last year as he explored biological anthropology.  This year he applied to help fund his exploration of archaeology.  He will be working on a National Science Foundation funded archaeological research program on sites from Native Americans, specifically the Anishinaabek tribe, of the Late Prehistoric period (1200 - 1600 AD, the period before European contact) in Northern Michigan (main peninsula). Justin will use this funding to help him conduct his own research project as part of this larger program.
