UNH ADVANCE IT will strengthen the University's efforts to develop a strong and diverse faculty. UNH will provide support programs, articulating the expectation that new and continuing faculty will successfully work within institutional policies and procedures.
UNH will create and deliver a world-class professional development program for department chairs to increase awareness of gender issues. Chairs in gender imbalanced fields will be strongly encouraged to attend workshops offered by relevant professional organizations.
Professional development will include training for search committees and a policy requiring search committee members to complete this training before serving.
UNH-specific leadership development training will be offered to associate professors (nominated by their Dean/Director), preparing them for becoming chairs, directors, and/or associate deans.
