PROPOSALS FOR NEW GEN ED
The General Education and Writing Intensive programs are described in the document available below:
Faculty members interested in submitting a course for Gen Ed/WI approval must follow the following steps:
First obtain basic course approval through the appropriate department and school/college guidelines (available from department chairs and deans). Courses that have an impact across colleges will need approval from the University Curriculum and Academic Policies Committee.
After the course has been approved at these levels, and your Dean has sent
a signed approval form to the Provost’s office, complete the appropriate
course proposal form from the menu below:
- New General Education Course Proposal (Category 2)
- New General Education Course Proposal (Category 3-8)
- Procedure to designating a course as writing-intensive
Be sure that the proposal responds, where required, to the Gen Ed/WI guidelines available below:
Submit a signed, hard copy of the proposal, and electronic copies of the course syllabus and the proposal to: Kathie Forbes, Registrar, Stoke Hall. Email: Kathie.forbes@unh.edu
The Gen Ed Committee meets biweekly during the academic year. All materials must be submitted to the Registrar at least two weeks in advance of a meeting in order to be placed on the agenda for that meeting.
