Minutes for January and
February were approved
Reports:
Jill reported on a Dodge Ball
Tourney that SAAC is putting on to raise money for the
Pat Gormley passed out a
story on new overtime pay requirements that will affect part time employees and
will have implications for equity
Steve and Carrie passed out
the most recent NCAA graduation rate report as well as information about the
new Academic Progress Rate reports. Carrie outlined the basic procedures
involved. The AAC members had a number of questions. Steve and Carrie will
present the material to the Faculty Senate in May.
The remainder of the meeting
entailed a review of plans for the NCAA Certification self-study in 2005-6. The
Committee discussed the members currently on the Steering and subcommittees, as
well as the following assignments for the April 26 meeting:

plans, and if not, why not. [e.g. we have not been doing an annual review of
Academic Support services]

standards and Self Study Instrument and see where we appear to be currently out
of compliance [e.g. did most recent
compliance review by AE cover camps]
·
Prepare a
recommendation on how to use the conference office during self-study
·
Enlist coaches
and staff members to serve on self-study
·
Consult with Matt
Drayton and identify 4-5 student athletes who will likely serve with SAAC and
will be juniors next year. We need diversity
