Committee/Liaison Reports:
· Awards – Carol passed out a proposal for giving awards (not certificates) to people who repeat the same category. Members approved the plan to award:
· a roller pen to repeaters in the pen/pencil category and
· a small clock for repeaters in the tackette category
· Student Senate – Amelia reported on Student Senate activities surrounded the “Sit Down __” cheer. Senators will distribute a survey on student attitudes and may draft a resolution that reflects student opinion for Senate vote on Feb 18. the AAC had a long discussion about this and concluded that such a resolution might pit the Senate against the Athletic Department. Everyone wanted to avoid this. It was agreed that Amelia would try to facilitate a meeting between AAC members and the Senate Executive Committee to discuss ways to encourage dialogue and not confrontation over student cheers that offend other fan groups.
· The need to keep documentation on hand that supports statements that we have completed certain tasks. These documents might be minutes, memoranda, or the like.
· The need to be careful in explaining why we have not accomplished certain tasks.
