The minutes of February 2000 meeting were approved

Reports/Business

Awards – Carol Sanborn reported that the invitations to the Awards Reception should go out by April 1. Things are shaping up well, but Carol will be looking for help with ushering and handing out programs.

Equity – Most of the meeting involved a discussion with Mark LaBarbera, Scott Stapin, and Dot Sheehan who presented both summaries of the last year’s activities and action plan for progressing toward our gender equity goals in sports marketing and sports information. The key feature of the materials was the focus on measurable activities. While both Scott and Dot recognized the need for continued progress, they clearly assisted the AAC in better understanding the work of their departments. The AAC members were generally pleased with the all facets of the summaries and materials, which will be included in this year’s Equity Report to the President. Steve Hardy noted that he hopes to share the reports with members of America East’s Equity Committee.
