Minutes

Present: K. Keyes, C.Sanborn, H. Barber, Kate Kokko, G. Carey, P. Gormley, T. Winters, S. Shore, S. Hardy

Approved Minutes of March meeting. [note - the April meeting was not held because there was no quorum]

Steve passed out the follow-up letter to the President, drafted by Gale Carey, that will request further clarifications on the President's response to the Safety Committee recommendations. The committee recommended that Steve send the letter to the President.

The only order of business was the new policy governing the Academic-Athletic Achievement Awards. The committee considered a financial impact study presented by Carol Sanborn. The committee discussed the proposed changes and approved the following:

1. to reduce the required semesters for each award by one (this will allow for one "bad" semester or for a semester abroad).

2. to eliminate duplicate awards (e.g., can only win a pin once).

3. to give a special certificate for duplicate achievement, the certificate indicating the number of semesters of achievement.

After approving the new policy, the meeting was adjourned.
