What are computer years?.

We know that everything seems speeded up in the technological whirl of the computer industry. This calculation uses a conversion factor of: 

    1 normal year = 4 computer years
So, a computer that is four years old in normal years, is 16 years old in computer years. Many other conversion factors are tossed about in the industry, some even as large as 100. Your Mileage May Vary. The point is to make this idea part of one's thinking and planning for obsolesence of hardware, software, and knowledge.
