Nutrition Coordinator (Part Time) - Dover, NH The role of the Nutrition Consultant is to support the delivery of a comprehensive, high quality nutrition program in conformance with the Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC and USDA / CACFP regulations. The Nutrition Consultant provides guidance, training, and technical assistance to program staff and parents to guarantee that children are served nutritious meals and snacks appropriate to participation in the Head Start and Early Head Start programs. The Nutrition Consultant reviews services of the nutrition program including children's needs, food preparation and service, and provides nutrition education activities to the parents, staff and children. It is also the responsibility of the Nutrition Consultant to provide recommendations for program improvement and monitor the carrying out of these recommendations. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE . Must possess a current registration with the American Dietetic Association or be eligible, registered, and ready to take the examination. . A Master.s Degree (MPH or MS) from an approved program in public health nutrition may be substituted for this registration. . At least two years. experience in community nutrition including services to children 0-5. . Possess an attitude, which is consistent with the profession of nutrition, Early Childhood Education, USDA requirements and Head Start performance Standards. . Experience in menu-planning, interpretation of nutrition assessment data, and familiarity in working with infants and children with special nutritional needs.
