
CHRIS HUMPHREY
Equally at home on trombone or voice, Mr. Humphrey is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire. He is currently in his eighth year as a faculty member at UNH, where he is the director of the UNH Wildcat Marching Band. He also conducts one of the jazz ensembles, and is the founder and director of the vocal jazz program. Mr. Humphrey has been a member of the internationally known vocal group THE RITZ . He also lead his own vocal group VOCALEASE, a very popular in the New England area. He has performed in jazz clubs such as Fat Tuesday's and The Blue Note in NewYork, as well as venues in Tokyo, Vienna, Italy, and Indonesia. His experience in the public schools (grades 4-12, Belmont, Ma) makes him, at a relatively young age, a very versatile educator. He is already in frequent demand as a clinician, conductor, and arranger. He has conducted at several music festivals in New England, where he has worked with concert bands, concert choirs, jazz bands, and jazz choirs at the Jr, Sr High, and collegiate levels. Mr. Humphrey has served as INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF JAZZ EDUCATORS Vocal/Combo chair for the state of Massachusetts. He also has served as vocal chair for the NH MUSIC EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION Jazz All-State Festival.
