RE: Full-Scale UV Project Status
I write to provide you an update of the FULL-SCALE UV PROJECT:
- People interested in the project should periodically visit this project WEB page: www.unh.edu/uv-gw where we will keep a running record of key project events.
- Presently, the UV dosages to be used for both the smaller South Berwick, Maine facility and the larger Indianapolis, IN facility have been agreed upon.
- Trojan Technologies, the UV supplier, is finalizing designs for both facilities and these designs will be reviewed by Black&Veatch, UNH-ERG and the two water utilities.
- We anticipate equipment design and fabrication will be completed by the end of 1997.
- Systems should begin operation in early 1998 at which point data collection on operation, maintenance and performance will proceed.
- System start up is later than originally planned but the project remains on time and well within budget.
