UNHSAR supports the Granite State Dogs by
training with them on the second full weekend of each month. See the events page for the next training date. Our usual
itinerary for such a training is to meet at the SAR office at 8 or 9am.
We then drive to Epping, NH. UNHSAR participants then either go in the
woods and wait for a dog and handler to find them or tag along with a
handler as they search. This is often followed by a delicious meal
provided by the Granite State Search Dog Members (they appreciate our
support). We normally arrive back at UNH by 6-8pm.
Participants should bring warm clothes, rain gear, snacks, and something to sit on (ridge rest, crazy creek chair...). It is also nice to have something to occupy your time while waiting to be found (i.e. a good book).
